Gentle Laser Relief for Glaucoma: SLT & Argon Therapy
LASIK is a trusted and fast-acting laser procedure to correct common vision issues. If you’re tired of glasses or contact lenses, LASIK offers visual freedom with minimal downtime.
What is Laser Trabeculoplasty?
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) and Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty (ALT) are outpatient laser procedures used to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma. These treatments improve the outflow of fluid from the eye, reducing pressure and helping prevent further optic nerve damage.
Benefits of Laser Trabeculoplasty:
- Effective Pressure Reduction: Often lowers IOP significantly without the need for surgery.
- Quick Procedure: Completed in under 10 minutes with no incisions.
- Minimal Downtime: Patients typically resume daily activities shortly after.
- Delay or Avoid Medication: May reduce or eliminate the need for daily eye drops.
- Repeatable: SLT can be safely repeated if needed.
